Anodyne is a top-down action-adventure game in the style of retro 16-bit games such as the Legend of Zelda franchise, but with a much more dreamlike setting and style. It was created by the two-man team of Analgesic Productions, consisting of Sean Hogan and Jonathan Kittaka. The game was originally released on February 4th, 2013.

On February 28th, 2019 a port for the Nintendo Switch was released.

Generally the only requirement is Adobe AIR 2.6+.

Quoted from the developers' website, "Sean began the development of Anodyne in March 2012, and met Jon in late June. As they are both students, they have worked together on Anodyne since; in between summer and academic year responsibilities."

Gameplay and Plot[edit | edit source]
The game unfolds from a top-down perspective as the player travels through the subconcious dream world of the main character, Young. Along the way Young and the player must solve puzzles, collecting new items and cards to gain access to new areas of Young's dreamworld.
